Malaysia Work Visa Application Process
Work visas in Malaysia are usually supported and sponsored by the employer. Employers need to follow the following steps to apply for a Malaysian work visa:
1) Employment Confirmation Letter: First, the employer needs to obtain permission from the Ministry of Human Resources to hire foreign employees to prove that the employer is authorised to hire foreign employees and support the work visa application.
2) Work Visa Application: Once the employer obtains a confirmation letter for hiring foreign employees, the employer can submit a work visa application and needs to fill in the appropriate forms and provide the necessary documents and fees.
3) Visa Approval: Once the foreign employee’s application is submitted, it will be reviewed and approved by the Malaysian Immigration Department. Approval times vary depending on the situation and usually take weeks or months.
4) Collect Your Visa: Once your visa is approved, the foreign employee can go to the Malaysian consulate or embassy to collect your work visa.
